I’m Ali Alnakeeb from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and I have been climbing for four years in and around the Greater Toronto Area. I fell in love with the sport after my university roommate introduced me to the local climbing gym; the community was extremely welcoming and supportive, and I felt at home right away.
I enjoy all aspects and types of climbing. However, my favourite discipline is bouldering. The short problems and hard moves excite and challenge me the most and motivate me to get stronger each day. Throughout my life, I have never been the keenest on cardio or endurance. I excelled most at short bursts of power and strength-based movements. Hence, my preference for bouldering. My local crag, The Niagara Glen, is one of the most beautiful places for bouldering in Ontario. I love the Niagara Glen community; the climbers are always psyched to maintain a clean, accessible, and welcoming area for climbers and hikers alike.
About a year ago, I challenged myself to send a V11. I’ve spent my days training throughout the pandemic, introducing breath work and flexibility training into my regimen, and I am incredibly close to achieving this goal. With outdoor activities resuming, I am stoked to get back on my projects and get sendy!
My favorite Flashed product is the Finger Tape!
