Corinne (Coco) Baril
Hi I’m Corinne (or Coco) Baril,
I’m a climber and a routesetter from Montréal. I’ve been climbing since I was a kid, and I’m still having as much fun as I did 20 years ago. I started routesetting around 8 years ago, as a part-time student job, but I fell totally in love with it, with the lifestyle it was bringing me, and with the people I was meeting. I am now head routesetter at Bloc Shop in Montréal, as well as an instructor for the B.I.G initiative. This year, I also became the first woman to be head routesetter for a national level competition in Canada, and I got certified as an IFSC continental routesetter (L2).
I love my work very dearly, however, I love my time-off even more. I normally use all my day-offs and all my vacation days to go on climbing trips, because outdoor bouldering is my one true love. I love spending my days outside, in the mountains or the forest or the desert, trying hard on boulders with my friends. I love the feeling of accomplishing something that felt impossible at first, and witnessing others push themselves and succeed.
