Hi, I’m Lucy Vollbrecht. I am a Ph.D. candidate and instructor at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Due to to the COVID-19 pandemic, I spent the last year in Flagstaff, AZ, where I climbed my first few v10s. The gymnastic movement in roof climbing is my absolute favorite. Now that I am back in the Southeast, my goal is to build my competency in the local style and put down some hard boulders here, too. I’ve got my eyes on a few already…
Education and social justice are core values of mine. I helped coordinate the local route-renaming effort in Flagstaff this past year. I believe strongly that the outdoors should be a safe space for everyone.
